Connor's Dedication

On November 22, Connor Stephen Walls was dedicated to God at the Community Praise Center, Seventh-Day Adventist church.

Unfortunately, Dad was in the hospital with appendicitis. So Mom and Dad (and any other relatives who wish they were there), this video is for you... courtesy of Shelly's quick thinking to ask the video guys if they could make a copy. We had a little debate about whether to give this to you at Christmas...but thought you'd enjoy it more now.

Now here are some still shots that I took from the balcony...
Here he is being held by the pastor, Josant Barrientos.

Unfortunately, the "wide angle" pictures are on Richard's camera, so you can't see the masses that filled the front of the church. There were easily 50 people.

Overall, I think everyone would agree Connor did great.

On a side note...
I had a great time visiting with family. I drove down Friday night so I'd be sure not to miss the morning's events. First words I heard after opening the front door were, "Hi, Unca Wyan." Talk about melting your heart... After the dedication enjoyed an amazing meal of homemade barbecue "meat"-balls, seasoned red potatoes, and corn...all topped off with blueberry pie. (Thanks Shelly!) Then spent the afternoon relaxing on the couch and watching the kids play. I hated to leave so soon, but I had to get home to work on school work. Less than 3 weeks and I'll be down with graduate school (12/12 is the last day.) Speaking of which, I better get back to a project that is due at midnight.

  3. Although our plans to attend Connor's dedication got canceled, we are thrilled that we were able to watch the church's video and share the memory. Connor was very handsome (Gramma says "cute") in his outfit and his smile at the very beginning melted two grandparent's hearts here in Tennessee. Thanks Ryan, for making the effort to record yet another Walls family event and sharing it with the rest of us.
